Hello, and welcome to Ashdown Tuition. I’m Charlotte — an experienced Primary Teacher, Assistant Headteacher, Qualified SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and Advisory Teacher. I provide personalised Maths and English tuition for children aged 4-11. Based in Sussex, I work locally and can travel across the South East when needed. I provide personalised and specialist SEN tutoring to families across the UK, online or in-person where possible.

At the centre of everything I do is my belief that no child should be left behind because of their ability, SEN, background or experience of school. I provide learning opportunities that centre around fun, games and your child's interest.
My experience has shown me that children learn best when they are engaged or have a genuine interest. This guides my teaching practice.
My experience has shown me that children learn best when they are engaged or have a genuine interest. This guides my teaching practice.
Throughout more than 12 years as a Teacher, Education leader and a SENCO I have gained experience teaching and leading across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I also have experience of teaching children with SEN and co-ordinating SEN provision. I am fully CRB checked and my CRB can be viewed on the update service.
I offer three forms of tutoring.

I make sessions fun and engaging and use my depth of experience of being a classroom teacher to tailor the sessions so that your child is engaged, makes good progress and feels confident about what they are learning.
I understand that your children are the most special people to you and I will make sure that you are kept informed as to what they are learning in the sessions, how they are doing and anything that you can do to help them between sessions.
A couple of recent reviews
"Highly recommend Ashdown Tuition. Charlotte’s virtual sessions with my son during lockdown were fantastic. She took the time to cover topics he would have done at school and was really patient with him. My son enjoyed the sessions a lot and I feel it has really helped his pace of learning."

"We accessed Ashdown tuition during lockdown, Charlotte was brilliant with my incredibly shy daughter. She met her needs and we had a break over the summer but I very much look forward to her returning to her sessions with Charlotte. Highly recommend."
